Hutovo Blato one of the most productive ecosystems in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Slika
Celebration of Hutovo Blato Day Recognizing the value of protected areas and the evaluation of individual ecosystem services have become one of the key global issues in the nature protection. As Bosnia and Herzegovina has made no estimates for any of the protected areas so far, on the occasion of Hutovo Blato Day, WWF started the process of assessing the services of Hutovo Blato using the methodology of Protected Area Benefits Assessment Tool (PA-BAT). Earlier WWF analyzes shown that Hutovo Blato is one of the most productive ecosystems in BiH and that its preservation is not only important for all living things that depend on it, but also for the economy of the entire region. "Hutovo Blato is not known only for its beauty and exceptional biodiversity concentrated in a rather small area, but also for the services that it provides the local population in the Neretva Delta in Croatia. We hope that the state authorities will take into account these services when deciding on fu

Secrets of the Underground of Krka National Park

Slika
Marifugia cavatica (c) Branko Jalžić On 26 April 2013, the book Tajne podzemlja (Secrets of the Underground), published by the Public Institute of Krka National Park, was presented at the Juraj Šižgorić Library in Šibenik, Croatia. The Krka River is a karst river with an uninterrupted course from its spring to its mouth, and as such represents a geological phenomenon. Its canyons, lake-like sections and waterfalls make it unique in comparison to the remaining rivers of the Adriatic basin. There are seven travertine waterfalls within the canyon: Bilušića buk, Brljan, Manojlovac falls, Rošnjak, Miljacka, Roški slap and Skradinski buk. The caves and pits are phenomena of karst. They arise in the carbonate sediments due to fissures in the rock that are expanded over time from the corrosive and erosive effects of the water. Within Krka National Park, there are 65 speleological structures, with the most prominent Miljacka 2 cave, the largest topographically mapped cave in the park,

Northen Velebit NP celebrates the 80th anniversary of the construction of Premužić path

Slika
This year marks 80 years since the completion of the Premužić path. Due to its quality of construction and integration into the natural environment, it is a jewel of construction of pedestrian paths in Croatia. It stretches along the ridge of the mountain Zavižan to Baške Oštarije in the middle of Velebit and its lenght is 57 km. The trail was built by the original concept and project of engineer Ante Premužić. Inhabitants of the Velebit coast area and Velebit mountain have built the path using the traditional method of drywall construction. Premužićeva path was declared a protected cultural monument of national importance in year 2009. For marking this great anniversary, the National Park Northen Velebit and Nature Park Velebit prepared rich program which will

Studijsko putovanje kroz parkove Kosova* i Makedonije

Slika

Podmorska poučna staza u uvali Verige u NP Brijuni

Slika
Staza pruža jedinstveni doživljaj prirodnih i arheoloških vrijednosti iznimno bogatog i sačuvanog podmorja NP Brijuni.
