In the Ministry of finance and economy in Belgrade 5th day, 5th country, 10th meeting - Ministry of finance and economy, Belgrade, Serbia! We met two very pleasant ladies working in tourism and having enormous experience in the nature protection, Mrs. Vera Jankovic, head of tourism product improvement department, and Mrs Jasna Simovic, adviser. They love the idea of THE WORLD UNDISCOVERED! Parks Dinarides should be a brand, we all agreed, that everybody in the region should be proud of. They told us that Ministry has some funds for the protected areas, however not enough to pay for their EUROPARK charter. DAP project manager Leon Kebe asked if there would be a chance for the parks to apply for the project in terms of getting money for the charter - unfortunately we didn't get the answer, but Mrs Jankovic promised to ask deputy minister dr.Renata Pindzo, who was supposed to meet us but at the end had to leave the country for another meeting. Meeting in the Ministry in Kosovo On Thursday morning we left Skopje and went to Kosovo. In Prishtina we had a very interesting meeting in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, with Nijazi Shala, Director of Tourism Department. Accompanied by his colleague Mr.Sc. Hysen Sogojeva, chief of Hotels Division and tourism standards, Mr. Shala was very happy to hear about our project. He said he is more than willing to help us with whatever we need in terms of promotion of our project. We found out that Kosovo is, together with some countries in the region, part of Western Balkans National Geographic group , and they already work on the promotion of the region. So we agreed we should cooperate! Successful meeting in the agnecy The same happened when we visited Fisnik Dragusha, business developer in KosovoGuide agency.  They are very interested in promotion of the Parks Dinarides brand due to the fact that they already work in the promotion of the Western Balkans. There is already

Minister of Environment in Macedonia with WWF crew and directors of Macedonian national parks After having no luck in Albania, we are more than happy with our meetings in Macedonia! Namely, the director of tourism in Albania didn't show up so our trip to Albania came up more like a head in the bag (yes, they really drive....  uf!). We met general director of environment Abeshi, presented the project and it was fine meeting, but non on agenda... We were in INKA, met Zamir and Co, shared ideas and planned workshop in Albania that will be on 12 October, led by Andrea and Leon. On Tuesday evening we came to Ohrid, met people from 2 national parks of Macedonia... Today we had a very good meeting with director of HOTAM, general associations of hotels in Macedonia. They are very interested in cooperation with us, and the main idea of the meeting was that local community, business and protected areas should work together. Sustainibility in every sense :-) Meeting in Agency in M

Leon representing project in the Ministry in MNE After two very successful meetings in Montenegro on Monday, 17 September, we decided to share our happiness with you! First meeting we had in Ministry of sustainable development and tourism - we met Ivana Vojinovic, deputy minister for environment, and Enis from tourism sector. The meeting was fruitful - Leon and I represented project and the brand Parks Dinarides. They told us they would like to be partners in the project and Veselin reminded us that minister Sekulic said when talking to WWF conservation director Deni Porej that he would like to support this project in every aspect. Meeting in NTO with Kirsi and Danica After the meeting in the Ministry, we went to National touristic organization and met two great ladies - deputy director Danica Ceranic and Kirsi Hyvarinen, CIM Senior adviser. They were full of questions, prepared for the meeting as nobody I have ever talked to... They were as well full of ideas and we agreed

5-5-12-1500... Mission impossible / Nemoguća misija

Slika
Yes, yes, I can imagine your face, nothing is understood from the headline... So, we go for a special mission for Parks Dinarides! We will visit 5 countries in 5 days, having 12 meetings and driving for 1500 kilometers. Perhaps it sounds like a mission impossible, but we'll make it - possible. Stay tuned and find out how did ministries of tourism in Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, Kosovo* and Serbia react on our proposal to support Parks Dinarides brand...
