Workshop on the topic "Lessons learned from the Study Tour to Slovenia"  On 12 July 2012 in Prevalla /Prizren in Kosovo it was held the workshop with the topic "Lessons learned from the Study Tour to Slovenia", organized within the framework of the project “Dinaric Arc Parks”. Radionica “Lekcije naučene prilikom stručnog posjeta Sloveniji”  U Prevalli/Prizen u Kosovu, dana 12. srpnja 2012. održana je radionica na temu “lekcije naučene prilikom stručnog posjeta Sloveniji”. Radionica, kao i stručni posjet Sloveniji, održani su u sklopu projekta Parkovi Dinarskog luka. Ovaj sastanak, okupio je na jednom mjestu razne državne institucije i nevladine organizacije iz Kosova i Albanije, zaposlenike na zaštićenim područjima i ostale koji su na bilo koji način povezani s tim područjima. Kao dio radionice, sudionici ovog stručnog posjeta, koji su također nacionalni koordinatori projekta za Kosovo i Albaniju, predstavili su sve što su naučili tijekom posjeta. Edukativna radionica Asocijacije nacionalnih parkova Srbije

S radionice u Čačku Asocijacija nacionalnih parkova i zaštićenih područja Srbije prvi put od osnivanja organizovala je edukativnu radionicu za svoje članove i one koji to žele da postanu. Radionica je imala za cilj podršku i edukaciju upravljačima nacionalnih parkova i zaštićenih područja u ostvarenju što kvalitetnijeg upravljanja i njihove bolje zaštite. U Čačku, srcu Šumadije, domaćin se potrudio da sve bude više nego ugodno za celodnevna predavanja. Čelnici turističke organizacije i gradske skupštine pružili su nam više nego očekivanu podršku. Imali smo tremu. Ogromnu. Bez obzira na iskustvo i znanje koje posedujemo, prvi put smo dobili priliku da sve ono što smo mi širom Evrope i SAD-a čuli, videli i naučili o upravljanju nacionalnih parkova prenesemo drugome. “Basics of Interpretation and Education“ in Kamenjak Public Institution

Team work in PE Kamenjak Under the EU Natura 2000 (NIP) project, State Institute for Nature Protection created an Educational Programme for Nature Protection Practitioners with the set of educational modules. Module “Basics of Interpretation and Education“ was held in May 2012. About 30 participants from public institutions which manage Croatian protected areas gathered in the House of Nature, Kamenjak Public Institution in Premantura. Medvednica Nature Park Public Institution, State Institute for Nature Protection, Maksimir Public Institution, and Zumberak Nature Park Public Institution all collaborated to organize and carry out the meeting. Nature Park Hutovo Blato On the 2nd of June, WWF and the management of Nature Park Hutovo Blato jointly organized the traditional Hutovo Blato Day. This year’s event coincided with  UNEP’s World Environment Day (5th June), which was organised under the slogan "Green Economy: Does it include you?". As green tourism is an important part of green economy we decided to organise the Hutovo Blato Day 2012 under this theme i.e. Eco-tourism in protected areas. Employees of Parks and professional institutions in the celebration of their day From June 14th to 17th 2012 in Banja Vrdnik, 13th celebration of parks („Parkovijada“) was organized by the Public Institution National Park Fruška gora. „Parkovijada“ is a meeting of the employees of national parks, institutions and professional bodies working in the field of environment in the Republic of Serbia and in the Republic of Srpska. Regional Secretariat for Urban Planning, Construction and Environment has independently participated in the official program of „Parkovijada“ for the first time. Within the program of „Parkovijada“, the Secretariat prepared a festive reception for the participants, and presented their organizational structure and operation. A new walking trail in NP Krka

Control trail A new educational-walking trail Stinice - Roski slap - Ozidjana cave has been opened in the National Park Krka under the project "Sustainable Management of visitors Krka" in April. One of the most beautiful hiking trails in Croatia has been equipped with the educational panels with detailed information about plant and animal species specific for the NP "Krka", geological phenomena and cultural and historical sites located along the trail. The trail is 8.5 km long, with a vertical drop of 176 meters. Completing  the trail should take approximately three hours. Trail will be opened for  visitors throughout the whole year. Promotion of Medvednica guide By the end of the week, which officially introduced us to a hot summer, the team of the Nature Park Medvednica refreshed us in their magical forest and showed us the the introduction of the Medvednica guide, called 'Decode Medvednica'. Although we were looking forward to relax in the shade of a hundred year old forest, Snježana and the rest of the team had different programme in mind. Instead of resting on the Činivnička meadow or enjoying a strudel, we were equipped with assignments and we went to research  Medvednica. After finding out the result of our assignments, in the end we did relaxed on the Činovnička meadow where the guide was afterwards officially introduced. Parks Transboundary cooperation project closed

The project started April 2009 under the auspices on Western Balkans Programme of Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, and was implemented by IUCN, WWF and SNV. The press conference was organized by WWF to present the results of another, just ending project of Natura 2000 in Montenegro and in Serbia. One of the "winners" of Grey Globe is the Croatian wetland Kopački rit. The main objective of Wetland Globe Awards is to highlight the benefits of good wetland management and, conversely, the costs to both humans and wildlife of unsustainable development. The World Wetland Network (WWN) developed the Wetland Globes to give a voice to small non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working on conservation.  They are non-financial awards, given to the wetland itself. This year there were some 2,000 votes from grass-roots NGOs in 270 wetlands around the world. It includes parts of Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Albania. WWF started the project Dinaric Arc Parks in early 2012, with the aim to create an association of nature and national parks in the territory of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo*, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. WETMAN Project for wetlands protection in Slovenia

Conservation and management of freshwater wetlands in Slovenia Wetlands are one of the most endangered habitats in Slovenia. A lack of appropriate management of wetlands in the past led to the loss of the wetlands. The Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Nature conservation launched the project “Conservation and Management of Freshwater Wetlands in Slovenia – WETMAN”. The main objective of the WETMAN project is the restoration and improvement of conditions of six Slovene wetlands. The pilot areas (Pohorje bogs, Vrhe, Planik, Zelenci, Gornji kal and the Mura oxbow lake near Petišovci) are also classified as Natura 2000 areas. Očuvanje i upravljanje slatkovodnim močvarama u Sloveniji Močvare su jedno od najugroženijih staništa u Sloveniji. Nedostatak prikladnog upravljanja močvarnim područjima u prošlosti je doveo do gubitka i degradiranja mnogih močvara. Zavod za zaštitu prirode Republike Slovenije osmislio je projekt „Upravljanje i zaštita slatkovodnih močvara u Sloveniji – WETMAN“. Glavni cilj projekta WETMAN je obnova i unaprjeđenje uvjeta u šest slovenskih močvara: pilot područja cretovi na Pohorju, Planik, Zelenci, Gornji kal i mrtvice Mure blizu Petišovca, ujedno Natura 2000 područja. Souvenir shop in NP Tara European Day of Parks which is held at the initiative of the EUROPARC Federation is commemorated on the 24th May under the slogan "See the sky, touch a tree, feel the air and find yourself". This date was chosen in memory of "Genesis" of the first national parks in Europe - nine national parks in Sweden, declared on May 24, in 1909 year. European Day of parks was first celebrated in 1999. Celebrations in Bosnia and Herzegovina are  commemorated  in four parks: National Park Sutjeska, National Park Tara, Nature Park  Hutovo Blato and Una National Park. Celebrations have been prepared under the auspices of the WWF, IUCN, SNV and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland under the project "Environment for the Dinaric Arc". NP Sutjeska In the National Park Sutjeska many people have participated in the celebration of the event: the leaflets are made with the above mentioned slogan, and also an art section was held.

NP Tara Europski dan parkova koji se održava na inicijativu Europarc Federacije obilježen je 24.5.2012., a ovogodišnji slogan bio je "See the sky, touch a tree, feel the air and find yourself!“ (pogledaj nebo, dodirni drvo, osjeti zrak i pronađi sebe!). Ovaj datum je odabran kao sjećanje na "nastanak" prvih europskih nacionalnih parkova - devet nacionalnih parkova u Švedskoj, proglašenih 24. maja 1909. godine. Europski dan parkova prvi put je obilježen 1999.godine. Proslave su u regiji Dinarskog luka obilježene u pet parkova: NP Tara, NP Sutjeska, PP Hutovo Blato, NP Durmitor i NP Una. Priređene su pod pokroviteljstvom WWF-a, IUCN-a, SNV-a i Ministarstva vanjskih poslova Finske u okviru projekta „Životna sredina za stanovništvo Dinarskog luka“. NP Sutjeska U Centru za posjetitelje NP Tara otvorena je izložba likovnih radova djece iz osnovnih škola dok je na gradskom trgu postavljen štand s edukativnim materijalom. Nova poučno-pješačka staza u NP Krka

Kontrolna staza U Nacionalnom parku Krka u travnju (aprilu) je otvorena nova poučno-pješačka staza Stinice - Roški slap - Oziđana pećina, u sklopu projekta „Održivo upravljanje posjetiteljima NP Krka“. Jedna od najljepših pješačkih staza u Hrvatskoj opremljena je edukativnim panelima s detaljnim informacijama o biljnim i životinjskim svojtama specifičnim za područje NP Krka, geološkim fenomenima i kulturno-povijesnim lokalitetima koji se nalaze uz stazu. Staza je duga 8,5 km, s visinskom razlikom od 176 m. Predviđeno je da šetnja stazom traje oko tri sata. Za posjetitelje će biti otvorena tijekom cijele godine. Staza Stinice - Roški slap - Oziđana pećina istinski je doživljaj svim ljubiteljima prirode, bilo da se radi samo o šetnji od nekoliko sati, bilo da je riječ o cjelodnevnom izletu obogaćenom edukativnim sadržajima. „Osnove interpretacije i edukacije“ u JU Kamenjak

Terenski rad u JU Kamenjak U sklopu Projekta integracije u EU Natura 2000 (NIP) hrvatski je Državni zavod za zaštitu prirode kreirao Program edukacije djelatnika u zaštiti prirode s nekoliko edukacijskih modula. Modul „Osnove interpretacije i edukacije“ održao se drugi put. Tridesetak sudionika iz javnih ustanova koje upravljaju hrvatskim zaštićenim područjima različitih kategorija zaštite okupilo se u Kući prirode, Premantura, JU Kamenjak od 9. do 11. svibnja 2012. godine. U organizaciji i provođenju projekta sudjelovali su Državni zavod za zaštitu prirode, te JU PP Medvednica, JU PP Žumberak-Samoborsko gorje i JU Maksimir kao članovi provedbenog tima. Radionici su se pridružili gosti s WWF-ovog projekta „Parkovi Dinarskog luka“ kojim WWF Mediteranski program stvara mrežu parkova prirode i nacionalnih parkova na području Dinarskog luka u sedam zemalja. Vodič „Dekodiraj Medvednicu“ za interaktivnu istraživačku pustolovinu

Na predstavljanju vodiča na Sljemenu Krajem tjedna koji nas je i službeno uveo u vrelo ljeto ekipa Parka prirode Medvednica rashladila nas je u svojoj čarobnoj šumi na predstavljanju vodiča Medvednicom, sasvim originalnog i simpatičnog „Dekodiraj Medvednicu“. Iako smo se radovali guštanju u hladu stoljetnih šuma, Snježana i ekipa priredili su sasvim drukčiji program, pa smo, umjesto izležavanja na Činovničkoj livadi ili uživanja sa štrudlicom u ruci, oboružani zadacima krenuli u istraživanje Medvednice. Nakon otkrivenog rezultata zadatka koji smo imali, došli smo i do uživanja na Činovničkoj, gdje je potom i službeno predstavljen vodič. Da ne duljimo, evo njegovog opisa: „On nije osoba, nego knjiga, ali knjiga s vrlo osobnim pristupom: vodi vas kamo želite i tempom kojim želite, priča vam medvedničke priče i događaje na mjestima na kojima su se i odvili, postavlja vam pitanja i pomaže da pronađete odgovore te zajedno s vama otkriva brojne tajne koje krije naša šumovita planina

Završen projekt prekogranične suradnje parkova

Elvana Zhezha (SNV), Deni Porej (WWF), Boris Erg (IUCN) Na završnom eventu projekta „Okoliš za ljude u Dinarskom luku“ koji je bio organiziran u lipnju 2012., dr.sc Deni Porej, izvršni direktor WWF-ovog Mediteranskog programa izrazio je svoje zadovoljstvo postignutim rezultatima po pitanju prekogranične suradnje između zaštićenih područja uključenih u projekt. Navedeni projekt započeo je u travnju 2009. godine, pod pokroviteljstvom programa „Zapadni Balkan“ Ministarstva vanjskih poslova Finske, a bio je implementiran od strane IUCN-a, WWF-a i SNV-a. Najznačajnije postignuće je da su tijekom projekta zaštićena područja potpisala sporazume o suradnji koji definiraju zajedničku viziju budućnosti i predanost ispunjenju zajedničkog cilja. Kopački rit (c) Mario Romulić U sklopu Konferencije potpisnica Ramsarske konvencije (konvencije o močvarnim područjima od međunarodnog značaja), koja se od prošloga tjedna održava u Rumunjskoj, dodijeljene su nagrade Wetland Globe, a jedna od nagrada, Grey Globe, pripala je Kopačkom ritu. Cilj nagrade Wetland Globe je istaknuti prednosti dobrog upravljanja močvarama i resursima za ljude, biljni i životinjski svijet, te odmicanje od neodrživog ka održivom razvoju. Svjetska mreža močvarnih područja (The World Wetland Network) osmislila je nagradu Wetland Globe kako bi dala glas malim, nevladinim organizacijama koji rade na očuvanju prirode. To su ne-novčane nagrade, koje se dodjeljuju močvarama. Ove godine bilo je oko 2.000 glasova lokalnih nevladinih organizacija s područja 270 močvara diljem svijeta. Blue Globe prepoznaje najbolje prakse upravljanja močvarama dok Grey Globe označuje močvare koje se aktivno degradiraju, zanemarene su ili su pod prijetnjom. Cilj ovih nagrada je ukaz
